There’s a lot going on the first week of May 2018! It’s North American Occupational Safety and Health Week as well as OSHA’s National Fall Safety Stand Down. As the construction season kicks off, it’s become a tradition to begin with safety in mind, and OSHA has led that initiative.
Any employer can participate in the OSHA Stand Down, and there is a Construction Safety Week initiative for those who do not have fall hazards. NAOSH Week is another way to tie all of this together, especially for general industry employers.
The theme of Construction Safety Week is making safe choices. This goes nicely with the NAOSH Week theme of making safety a habit. Both events, as well as the OSHA stand down are an attempt to ensure employers and workers begin this busy season with safety in mind.
What do you have planned? Whatever you end up doing, make sure to broadcast it to your customers, business partners, and colleagues. Check out my post on maximizing media for ideas.
If you’re a safety pro, don’t forget to celebrate YOUR day as part of this safety week! Occupational Safety & Health Professional Day is Wednesday May 9, 2018.
