Did you know I’m the current Administrator for the American Society of Safety Professionals Women in Safety Excellence Common Interest Group? If you’ve never heard of WISE, shame on me! Learn more about us at www.assp.org/wise
My goal is to publish an Administrator’s Message each month, here’s the August 2018 installment:
It’s too HOT here in Minneapolis to show myself on camera for a WISE Administrator’s Message, so here’s what I’d like you to know this month in word form!
WISE Members,
Time has flown by this summer! It seems like only yesterday some of us were gathered in the San Antonio heat to talk safety and catch up on some much needed safety social time. This Admin message doesn’t include a video from me, but I wanted to point out some videos that you may have missed that can bring you value and let you know about our upcoming open call.
Looking back WISE at Safety 2018
You may have noticed camera crews at Safety 2018 and WISE was prominently featured in the productions! Check out this one with footage from the ASSP Foundation 5K (look for the bright #fundWISEfutures shirts) and coverage of the WISE Networking Night.
2018 ASSP Fellow and WISE member Deb Roy leads info-packed webinar for Consultants Practice Specialty
WISE member and newest ASSP Fellow honoree for 2018, Deb Roy, conducted an informative webinar for the Consultants Practice Specialty about choosing safety consulting as a career. This was an open call coordinated by the Consultants Practice Specialty and you can find that video and videos from other ASSP Communities’ open calls on the ASSP’s Vimeo channel. I took a lot of notes during this session and plan to watch the video at least two more times to catch all the info.
WISE Open Call – September 25, 2018 – Brunch & Learn!
WISE is hosting an open call on the T.A.C.T.I.C.A.L. Safety Leadership Model. Jaime Ingalls, an active WISE member, is our speaker for the session. You can learn more about the session and register for it here. Make sure to pass along the link to anyone you think would benefit from the topic and encourage them to join WISE for future WISE-member only webinars.
#excellenceinWISE
If you haven’t participated yet in the WISE effort to win the ASSP Communities Launch Challenge, let the world know how you demonstrate Excellence in safety! Use the hashtag #excellenceinWISE on any social media platform you like. At the end of September, we’ll draw a winner from each week of the contest (July – Sept) to receive WISE swag with our new logo and name.
See you on social media or the jobsite 🙂
