Facing the Public, and Violence

Posted by

A recent news item from the CalOSHA Reporter related to code enforcement officers facing violence on the job made me step back and think more about workplace violence. Workers who deliver news to the public, especially things people don’t want to hear, in the case of code enforcement workers, are at risk of workplace violence. The violence can escalate from a shove to an emailed threat, to worse.

Think about scenarios in which your workers face the public – have you given them the information and resources they need to prevent violent incidents?
