Safety Program Assessment and Development

Completed Project, December 2016 – June 2017 – “Project: Safety Culture” Abby assisted a brewery with safety programs related to their expansion to a larger space. The project included MNOSHA AWAIR, Right-to-Know, Confined Space, and Lockout/Tagout programs as well as detailed Job Safety Analysis (JSA) created based on existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Completed Project, May 2016 – October 2016 – “Project: Safety Program Compliance, and Beyond” Abby assisted a brewery with assessment of their hazard communication and confined space programs and related employee training. The brewery was assessed for permit spaces and procedures updated to reflect the conditions found. The programs were turned over to the brewery’s established safety committee for maintenance.

Open-ended project, August 2016 to January 2017 – “Project: Site Safety Inspection” Abby provides weekly safety inspections for a national client with presence in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. Site visits are conducted on a random basis and Abby coordinates recommendation compliance with the site superintendents and foremen. Reports are completed with photos and recommendations and distributed to the home office and the site management.

Ongoing project, January 2016-present Abby is the risk control consultant for a workers compensation insurance captive comprised of bottling and beverage employers. Risk control service is provided throughout the policy year for members that includes onsite visits, worker training, and frequent webinars.

Completed Project, June 2016 to July 2016 – “Project: Safety Programs” Abby conducted onsite assessment and program review for a client with an international presence. The main location’s programs were developed with an emphasis on federal standards with potential for future work for the client’s satellite locations throughout the United States and Canada based on the initial project.

Completed Project, June 2016 – “Project: Silica Digest” Abby provided a digested version of OSHA’s new respirable crystalline silica standard specific to a niche construction industry. The information was presented in printed form as well as webinar format for legal counsel throughout the United States.

Completed Project, June 2015 to May 2016 – “Project: Safety Culture” Abby assisted a brewery with assessment of their current safety programs and developed updated programs to meet state and federal requirements. In addition, Abby mentored the client’s established safety committee by establishing a weekly meeting with structure for committee member reports and action item tracking.

Completed Project, October 2014 to April 2015 – “Project: Safety Culture” As an independent safety director, Abby managed all aspects of the client’s workers compensation claims and instituted controls in the field specific to the client’s loss drivers. In addition, she evaluated many of the client’s written programs and improved upon them by incorporating state and local best practices for drug testing, supervisor training, new employee orientation, and pre-employment testing.

Completed Project, August 2014 to September 2014 – “Project: Safety Culture” Abby evaluated the client’s written safety programs and provided a safety culture assessment by conducting interviews and jobsite evaluations. The client desired an improvement in their overall Safety Culture. Abby provided a path to success including: updated/upgraded written safety programs, implementation of an accountability program, and a thorough Job Safety Analysis program. Employees were trained on updated policies, expectations, and the new Job Safety Analysis documents.

Completed Project, December 2014 – EM 385-1-1 Program & Templates Abby provided a full suite of inspection documents for a client working on military bases subject to EM 385-1-1 safety standards. Work product included equipment inspection forms, site inspection forms, and EM 385-1-1 compliant Accident Prevention Program template.

Completed Project, August 2014 – Safety Program Baseline Abby assisted a client with a baseline safety audit of written programs and field-level implementation. She provided the client with an in-depth report of the audit findings, with ideas of goals they could reach toward in 2015. She also provided updated/upgraded written safety programs for the client including a Cal/OSHA IIPP, Heat Illness Prevention Program, and GHS HAZCOM program.

Completed Project, June 2014 – Prequalification Assistance Abby assisted several clients with compliance with the ISNetworld prequalification system by reviewing their project safety documents and ensuring the clients’ programs met the ISNetworld requirements. The final work product required Abby to upload the clients’ documents directly into the ISNetworld system.

Risk Control Services

On an ongoing basis, Abby operates as an independent risk control consultant for two national risk control consultation groups to assist them in providing excellent service to their clients and to prospect new business with an emphasis on risk analysis, incident trends, and evaluation of safety program effectiveness.

Frequent services provided include: prospecting new business onsite or via phone interview, policy year risk control services, and one-off services such as OSHA 10 hour training and webinars.

Abby frequently works with workers compensation, general liability, auto, pollution liability, professional liability, and builder’s risk policies.

Instructional Design for Web-Based Training

Completed Project, April 2017 – Recorded Webinar for Multi-Site Training Delivery Abby developed a training course geared towards a client’s site supervisors working on projects under the jurisdiction of the Army Corps of Engineers. She developed visually stimulating safety training content and provided the narration for the training session that will be accessed by the client’s personnel throughout the country.

Completed Project, December 2016 – Instructional Design for a State Agency Abby provided the course outline, safety training content, interactive activities, and script for training that will impact over 1,000 personnel in the state of Minnesota.

Completed Project, December 2014 Abby provided CSP-level review of online training modules for OSHA 10 and 30 hour training. As part of the review, class modules were updated with interactions to engage the learner who would be seated at a computer or laptop for the 10 or 30 hour course. Interactions include activities like matching, sorting, sequencing, and other ways to test the learner’s comprehension.

Completed Project, Fall 2014 Abby provided a review of an online training module for Forklift Operator Training. The review included updating materials to reflect current regulations and adding interactions to engage the learner.

Completed Project, Spring 2014 Abby provided three training modules for an online NFPA 70E training. The course included regulatory basics up to specific site evaluation techniques.

Open-ended project beginning November 2016 – Brand Ambassador Abby is working as a brand ambassador for a new mobile application that combines identification of safety hazards and safety leaders with thoughtful tracking/trending and incentives for personnel who actively use the app.

Ongoing Projects since 2015 – Professional Safety Association Social Media Abby provides relevant and timely content for the Northwest Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers for their Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages.

Completed Project, March 2014 – A SoCal Farmstand The Ferri Group upgraded a Southern California farmstand’s social media pages to boost their followers at the client’s request. Instagram followers increased from 15 to 100 in less than one week with The Ferri Group’s initial effort. Blog posts for the farmstand’s Shopify website were created to maximize visibility on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook. The client’s Twitter page became more interactive with fans on a local and international scale and was turned back over to the client after over three months.  Overall, the client experienced increased follower count, impressions, and engagement resulting directly in increased sales online through the Shopify site and at the farmstand location.

Completed Project, February 2014 – Jon Paulo Salon The Ferri Group established social media profiles for a full-service beauty salon in Foothill Ranch, CA. The client desired a presence on Google+, Facebook, Instagram, FourSquare (now Swarm), Yelp, and local Patch pages. The client needed assistance with correcting inaccurate information on CitySearch and Yelp, which The Ferri Group was able to immediately rectify to the client’s satisfaction. All social media was managed by The Ferri Group for three months until the client was comfortable to take over all profiles on their own.
